      • Worst car shopping experience ever!
      • This was the worst car shopping experience ever. I wouldn't return to this dealership ever! I previously have purchased a Nissan Altima from Twin City Nissan and have recommended them highly. My in-laws have purchased 3 vehicles from them based on my recommendation in the past but they no longer live up to the standards they once held. My husband and I went there to test drive and purchase a 2009 370Z touring coupe. The first salesman that came out - knew nothing about the car. He tried to tell me one particular model was a touring coupe when in fact it was the base coupe with the sporting package. He had no idea the differences in the cars - he even said well I have only been here since May (4 months). Then when we wished to test drive it, we were treated as if we were criminals or something. First, the salesman wanted to test drive the 2 seater with us which was unacceptable. Finally, they said we could drive it if we provided a release, driver's license and insurance. I had no problem with that - I had done the exact same thing at a dealership in Baytown (different car). But then we were questioned, where were we driving the car to, how far were we taking it - "the manager wants to know because people who buy these cars don't want a lot of miles on it". We took it out for barely a mile - didn't even take it to the freeway which would have still been less than 5 miles roundtrip. The car already had 249 miles on it so someone had been test driving it. Then when we returned, the salesman didn't want to set down and negotiate at all on the price of the car - not even the sticker on the window but their added after market additional price was "the price". One of the other salesman stepped in to supposedly talk to us because he wanted to sell the car, but his tone was rude and condescending from the start. I told my husband that I wanted to leave that they didn't show the same class of salesmanship and quality that I had experienced in the past. The salesman very mockingly waved his hand and is like "by-bye". Obviously, they are not interested in selling cars or having any class in their dealership. The younger salesman was polite just inexperienced and unknowledgable, but the older salesman was arrogant and rude. I did receive a polite call from the sales manager after I filed a letter of complaint with Nissan. He tried to be polite but he stated that we seemed to have a different perception than his staff and tried to point out their perspective on the test drive stating that when you want to drive a $50,000 car they have to be careful. I drove into the dealership in a $46.000 special edition vehicle which I left while I test drove their car. The car I asked to drive was between $35,000-40,000. Their response was inappropriate. When you to call to apologize, you shouldn't spend time trying to explain how it was the customer's misperceptions. The only perception that matters is the customers! (LauraD, 09/05/2009)
